ADA — SODA Area Agency on Aging will be sponsoring the 2006 Senior Citizen Spelling Bee for savvy senior spellers. This year’s contest will be held Wednesday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at the Chickasaw Regional Library, 601 Railway Express Street in Ardmore. All individuals 60 years of age or older residing within SODA’s ten-county planning and service area, which includes the counties of: Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Coal, Garvin, Johnston, Love, Marshall, Murray, and Pontotoc, are encouraged to participate.

First and second place local winners will be eligible to compete in the State Senior Citizen Spelling Championship which will take place May 3, 2006, at the Reed Center in Midwest City. The State event is held during the annual State Conference on Aging as part of the Senior Day activities.
