ADA — A shooting occurred in the 500 block of West 14th around 1 a.m. Saturday morning leaving one man dead. An investigation is underway by Ada police department. A neighbor, Walter Buchanan, said around 5 a.m. the police began an evacuation of area residents but changed their minds, telling them to remain in their homes in their back rooms. “They told us to stay in the back rooms, a man had been shot and they were currently investigating the area,” Buchanan said.

Before 7 a.m. central dispatch issued a BOLO (be on the look out) for a blue four-door vehicle believed to be driven by a male suspect with a female passenger. As of press time, the victim’s name was not released. Sources at the scene said there was possibly one person in custody and other people were being sought by law enforcement.
