Two car collisions occurred yesterday on the roads of Johnston County, injuring people in the separate accidents.

According to police reports, the first incident occurred at approximately 10 a.m., less than a mile east outside of Tishomingo on State Highway 22. Joyce Marie Samis, 70, Sherman, Texas, was at the wheel of a 2002 Mitsubishi when she over corrected her vehicle after running off the roadway, striking a 2005 Chevrolet Pickup driven by Weldon Odell, 50, Ardmore.

Three of four of Samis' adolescent passengers were treated and released at Johnston Memorial Hospital, while Cassandra Chaberria, 9, Sherman, Texas, was transported via air ambulance to Children's Hospital in Dallas, Texas with internal trunk injuries, and listed in critical condition. Samis was admitted to Johnston Memorial Hospital, also suffering from internal trunk injuries, but listed in stable condition. All passengers were using seat belts.

The next incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on Prairie Road, a mile north of Blue River Road.

According to reports, Harlean Hamilton Jr., 22, Ada, was at the wheel of a 1997 Chevy S-10 Pickup traveling at an unsafe speed when he lost control and ran off the road, striking a tree and over turning halfway.

Hamilton's two passengers, William Cavanaugh, 27, Ada, and Jonathan Fulsom, 27, Ada, were transported to Johnston Memorial Hospital, with Fulsom being admitted with internal and external trunk injuries and listed in good condition, while Cavanaugh was transported to Carl Albert Hospital and admitted with an arm injury and listed in stable condition.
