ROFF — Michael Albritton, a Roff High School senior, was recently nominated to compete in the national Principal’s Leadership Award scholarship program, sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Bubba Tidwell, principal at Roff High School, announced the nomination, which places Albritton in the national competition. One hundred national PLA winners will be chosen this spring to receive a college scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $12,000.

High school principals from across the country were able to nominate one of their student leaders. Nominees were selected based on their leadership skills, participation in service organizations and clubs, achievements in the arts and sciences, employment experience and academic record. They were also required to write an essay.

While at Roff High School, Albritton has been a member of the baseball team, president of Roff National Honor Society, vice president of the senior class, member of Beta and maintains a high grade point average. He plans to attend Oklahoma State University to study engineering.
