According to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Doug Brinson, speed and driving under the influence of alcohol contributed to a three-vehicle accident one mile west of Sulphur on State Highway 7 Friday night.

All three vehicles were driving east, the report said. Travis McKee, 35, Sulphur, was driving a 2003 Jaguar at a high rate of speed and attempted to pass a 2001 Ford pick up driven by Ronald Herrington, 46, Hastings. Mckee hit the truck from behind, the report said. Debris from the collision was thrown back and hit a 2002 Toyota pick up driven by Brandon Allen, 26, Sulphur, which was driving behind the Ford and the Jaguar. McKee lost control of the Jaguar and crashed it into a light pole, the report said.

Mckee was taken by Murray County EMS to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore and admitted in fair condition with leg injuries. Herrington and Allen were not injured.
