Naomi Sunday School
ADA — The Naomi Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church met Tuesday, June 6. The meeting was at the Baptist Village with Bontia Folger's group hosting.
Christine Folger, president, opened the meeting with greetings for everyone who attended. Many of the members were remembered and prayed for.
The devotion was presented by Lois Gilley, teacher. The topic was "Scars of Life." We have scars because God doesn't let go of us. She read a great story about a young boy's legs that were scarred by an alligator but also whose arms were scarred by his Father who held on to him and wouldn't let go.
Mary Sue Roberts entertained the group with humorous stories. Christine Folger read an article about "Growing Older."
The minutes of the last meeting were read by Mary Helen Newton, secretary. The treasurer's report was given by Essie Wilburn.
There will be no meeting this summer. The next meeting will be in September. A discussion was held concerning where to have the meetings and it was decided to alternate the meetings between J. D,'s Cafe and the Baptist Village.
Closing prayer was offered by Folger.
Those attending were Carl and Lois Gilley, Nannie Lee and Elwood Winchester, Pauline Roan, Christine Folger, Thelma Greenlee, Bernice Shiplet, Essie Wilburn, Willie Mae Williams, Mary Sue Roberts, Hazel Wall, Helen Middleton, Bonita Folger, Sammy O'Neal and Mary Helen Newton.
