ADA — Greg Pierce, Superintendent, Pontotoc Technology Center, recently announced Roberta Stone has been hired as Pontotoc Technology Center’s Occupation Safety Coordinator.

The Occupational Safety Center’s (OSC) mission is to create safer work environments and reduce work related injuries and illnesses in the Pontotoc Technology Center service area, according to Pierce.  OSC will assist local businesses, industries, and government employers with multiple services, including the following:

OSHA Required Training such as hazard communication, injury and illness recordkeeping, machine guarding, fire prevention plans, emergency evacuation and preparedness plans, and others as requested.

Occupational Safety and Health Program development will include Comprehensive safety and health program manuals, Workers Comp Premium reduction plans, and specialty program development.

Occupational Safety and Health Excellence Training will include Office Ergonomics, Incident Investigation and Recordkeeping, Work-Related Violence Prevention, and others.

Occupational Safety Center will also include fire safety training through the Fire Safety/Service Training Center for local city and volunteer fire departments to obtain certified training in coordination with OSU. 

Stone holds a master’s degree in Occupational and Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene from the OU Health Sciences Center and a BS in Environmental Health Sciences from East Central University.  She has worked for the Oklahoma Department of Labor and the Kansas Department of Human Resources as an OSHA 21d Program Consultant.

Stone has specialized in Occupational Safety and Health Training and Program Development, Industrial Hygiene Assessments, Chemical, Long Term Care and Medical and Dental Office Safety and Health Evaluations, and Office Ergonomics.  She has also worked for a private consultation firm and as a plant environmental health and safety engineer.
