A man was seriously injured in a wreck Thursday and authorities say alcohol was involved.

The wreck occurred at 10:43 p.m. at the intersection of Grand Ave. and Sixth Street in Ravia, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ashley Hampton said in a report.

Hampton said 37-year-old Cody Graham of Ravia, was driving a 1998 Ford west on Grand Ave. when — for an unknown reason — he ran off the road to the right.

“The vehicle struck an embankment and utility pole,” Hampton said. “(Graham) was ejected approximately 25 feet from the vehicle.”

Graham was flown by Eagle Med to Parkland Hospital in Dallas and admitted in serious condition with head, internal, leg and arm injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to Hampton.

Based on her investigative opinion, Hampton listed the cause of the wreck as driving under the influence of alcohol.
