New oath

Ada Police officers took an oath of office Tuesday morning to support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States, state of Oklahoma and the charter of the city of Ada. The oath also says the officer will not, knowingly, receive any money or other valuable thing for the performance or nonperformance of any act or duty pertaining to his or her office other than compensation allowed by law. The officer also pledges to never betray his or her badge, integrity, character of public trust. Each new officer will be issued the oath at Ada City Council meetings. Tuesday’s ceremony was for those officers already on staff.
