ADA — The Old Bank Fine Art Gallery, located at the corner of Main and Townsend in Ada, sponsors its second annual juried exhibition. Artists from all over the nation have entered their work in this competition.

The show will hang from April 5-29. Gallery hours during the exhibit will be Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Included in the exhibit are paintings in several different media as well as bronze sculptures. The pieces on display are of exceptional quality and are well worth a visit to the gallery.

There is to be a $1,000 cash prize for the work chosen as best of show as well as several other cash awards for artists. Citizens Bank, Vision Bank and First United Bank of Ada are providing special awards to chosen artists. Other contributing sponsors are the Kennedy Library of Konawa, D.K.’s Nutrition Center and Bob and Sally Bennett, Ada.

Judge for the show is Gay Faulkenberry, Duncan. Faulkenberry studied art at Southwestern State University and Oklahoma State University. In 1978, she became more serious about pursuing a fine art career. Her in-depth training came from workshops where she studied with artists Sergei Bongart, Ray Vinella, Ned Jacob and Mark Daily.

Her work is included in many private and corporate collections and featured in many national art publications. Faulkenberry’s subject matter includes landscape, florals, still life and interiors. She teaches workshops and continues with painting trips throughout the United States as well as in France, Belgium and Italy.
