ADA — Several people escaped serious injury in a two-vehicle crash in Ada Thursday afternoon.

The wreck occurred at the intersection of 12th and Johnston just after 4:30 p.m. Ada Police Officer Jason Mosley said Phillis Franklin, 65, Stratford, was driving a 2006 Chrysler minivan north on Johnston when she attempted to cross 12th Street.

The minivan was hit in the side by a 2005 Honda driven west on 12th by Caitlin Weller, 18, Ada. The impact caused the minivan to rollover onto its roof.

Ada firefighters and Valley View EMS responded but Franklin and Weller said they were not injured. A passenger in Weller’s vehicle, Leslie Battice, 21, Ada, refused treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

Mosley said Franklin was issued a citation for failure to yield from a stop sign.
