ADA - Christopher Allen Born, 25, Ada, was arrested Tuesday, on charges for the suspicion of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, attempting to elude, operating a motorcycle without M endorsement, and speed not reasonable and prudent.

Ada Police Officer Mike Baker observed a speeding green Kawasaki motorcycle, around 9 a.m. , turn off Broadway headed east on 4th Street toward Mississippi then turn south to Main. Baker instructed the driver, Born, to pull over in front of him and instead Born speeded down Main Street. Baker reported to dispatch that the motorcycle driver was attempting to elude him. Ada Police Captain Mike Lynch was informed that Born was continuing to accelerate and Baker was in pursuit according to protocol.

At the intersection of Main and Cherry, “I discovered where the motorcycle driven by Born had been involved in an accident involving Ms. (Jennifer) Miller,” said Baker. Witnesses directed Officer Baker to the east where Born had fled on foot. Born was then found by Officer Joshua Dean in a field behind a vacant building and taken into custody. Born was transported to Valley View Regional Hospital for treatment to his injuries as a result of a collision with a vehicle. Born was treated and released.

Miller told the officers she was in the intersection of Main and Cherry when she was struck in the right rear of her vehicle by the motorcycle. Born was traveling too fast for Miller to have seen him before entering the intersection, according to the police.
