An Ada woman who disappeared along with several thousand dollars has been located, but the money has not.

Police were called to the Ada Jack in the Box restaurant for a reported embezzlement Oct. 29. The restaurant’s shift leader, Amy Nyberg, did not show up for work that day and $4,256 in cash was missing from the store’s safes.

Ada Police Detective Tracy Jackson said Nyberg, 18, returned to Ada recently after traveling to Las Vegas.

He did not say if police suspect she took the money or not.

A former manager of Jack in the Box, Richard Foster, 37, Ada, had the combination to the safes and is a suspect in a previous embezzlement from the restaurant in mid-October when $12,000 in cash deposits and register money was discovered missing.

A felony warrant was issued for Foster regarding the embezzlement and Jackson suspected he was in Las Vegas.

“It is my understanding that (Nyberg) was with the former manager,” Jackson said.

At the time of Nyberg’s disappearance, police weren’t sure if she had been kidnapped. Nyberg reportedly told police Foster did not force her to go and she later went out to “where he was at” to join him in Las Vegas.

Jackson said Nyberg has been cooperative in the investigation but would not comment further.
