One person died and another was injured in separate one-vehicle accidents Friday, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

Troopers said 37-year-old Christy L. Jacoby, Mill Creek, was driving a 2004 Hyunda 4D east on a Johnston County road when she lost control of the vehicle, missed a curve, slid off the road and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene by a state medical examiner. Unsafe speed was listed as the cause of the collision.

Edward Millhollan, 59, Pauls Valley, was injured when the vehicle he was driving on State Highway 19 four miles east of Pauls Valley ran off the road, struck a culvert and rolled 2 1/4 times before coming to rest on its side. Millhollan was pinned for approximately 15 minutes before being freed by Pauls Valley Fire Department.

He was transported by Pauls Valley Emergency Medical Services to Pauls Valley General Hospital. He was later transferred to Norman Regional Hospital in Norman with head and leg injuries. Troopers listed the cause of the collision as inattention.

Each of the victims were not wearing seatbelts and airbags did not deploy in either vehicle, the patrol said.
