Adam Fowler

SULPHUR — Air Force Airman Adam C. Fowler has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

Fowler is the son of April Weisler, Sulphur.



Brad Ransom II

SULPHUR — Air Force Airman Brad M. Ransom II has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

Ransom is the son of Brad Ransom, Sulphur.

He is a 2002 graduate of Sulphur High School.



Carrie Freeman

STONEWALL — Army National Guard Pvt. Carrie T. Freeman has graduated from the Light-wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

The course is designed to train soldiers to perform maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair wheeled vehicles and related mechanical components, which include internal combustion engines and power trains, spark- and compression-ignition engines, wheel-hub assemblies, hydraulic-power brakes, suspension and steering systems, and learned to operate a wheeled vehicle crane, hoist, and wench assembly.

Freeman is the daughter of Debra J. Carrell, Stonewall, and granddaughter of Delana M. Wingo, Colbert.

Her husband, Justin, is the son of Eddie and Debbie J. Freeman, Pottsboro, Texas.

He is a 2005 graduate of Grayson Community High School, Sherman, Texas.



William Van Horn

ADA — Marine Corps Reserve Pvt. William L. Van Horn, son of Cheryl A. and John H. Van Horn, Ada, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif. designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally.



Kurt Brandon

ADA — Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Kurt A. Brandon has returned to the U.S. after being deployed to an overseas forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq. Mission objectives focus on force protection, peacekeeping, stabilization, security and counter-insurgency operations as the Iraqi transitional governing bodies assume full sovereign powers to govern the peoples of Iraq.

The sergeant is a security forces member assigned to the 180th Field Artillery, Chandler, Ariz.

He is the son of Maria Goodman, Sulphur.

His wife, Denise, is the daughter of Harold and Lois Savidge, Westchester, Pa.

Brandon graduated in 1984 from Edmond Memorial High School, Okla., and received an associate degree in 1986 from Oklahoma State University, Okmulgee.



Justin Vineyard

DAVIS — Marine Corps Pfc. Justin G. Vineyard, son of Trish L. Vineyard, Sulphur,and Ben L. Vineyard, Davis, recently completed the Personnel Clerk Course at Personnel Administration School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Lejeune, N. C.

Vineyard is a 2005 graduate of Davis High School of Davis, and joined the Marine Corps in July 2005.



Wesley Jenkins

ADA — Wesley A. Jenkins graduated from the U.S. Army Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, Daleville, Ala., and was appointed to the rank of warrant officer one.

Jenkins is the son of Joe and Deena Jenkins, Ada. He has two years of military service.

The warrant officer graduated in 1995 from Byng High School and received a bachelor's degree in 1999 from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.



Floyd Cobble

TISHOMINGO — Navy Fireman Floyd D. Cobble, son of Rebecca K. and Ricky L. Cobble, Tishomingo, departed on a scheduled deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism while assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu, homeported in San Diego.

Cobble is a 2005 graduate of Tishomingo High School and joined the Navy in June 2005.
