ROFF — Roff School Teacher of the Year was recognized at the 23rd Annual Honors Banquet April 11 at JD’s Cafe.

Mike Stewart was selected as the Roff district Teacher of the Year. Stewart is in his 25th year of teaching. He began his teaching career at Bokchito and has taught at McLish, Olive, Rush Springs, Sulphur and for the past four years at Roff. Currently, he is athletic director, assistant softball and assistant basketball coach.

He teaches driver’s education and history classes. He has been selected as Duncan Banner Coach of the Year, Lawton Constitution Boys Coach of the Year, Assistant Baseball Coach of the Year and District 6 Boys Basketball Assistant Coach of the Year.

Stewart is a graduate of McLish High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s from East Central University. He and his wife, Jana, have a son, CJ, who will be a freshman at Southeastern and a daughter, JJ, who will be a seventh grader at Roff.
