East Central University athletes and coaches will be working at the McDonald’s in Arlington Center on April 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. during the ECU Athletics Night.
A percentage of all in-store and drive-thru food sales during the designated time frame will benefit intercollegiate athletics at the university. In addition, the university receives any tips and donations made during the fundraiser.
ECU athletes and coaches from numerous sports will be on hand to greet customers, sign autographs and help at the registers.
“I can’t thank the McDonald’s owners, Rick and Kathy Thorley, enough for allowing us the opportunity to join forces with them in promoting our program and assisting our athletes,” said, ECU Director of Athletics, Brian DeAngelis.
Community members are encouraged to attend the fundraiser at the McDonald’s located on North Country Club Road to support ECU Athletics.
“This event is similar to a McTeacher’s Night that we’ve hosted for several local elementary schools over the years,” Kathy Thorley, local McDonald’s owner, said. “Since those events have been successful , the idea to support the local university seemed like a natural fit.”
