An Ada man was seriously injured when he crashed a vehicle into a tree Thursday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. Allen Henry said Harold Neel, 43, was driving a Chevrolet pickup north on County Road 1553 when the crash occurred.

“Basically, he was driving down the road when he ran off the right side of the roadway, for an unknown reason pending investigation,” Henry said.

“He traveled roughly 170 feet where he impacted a concrete bridge embankment and then a tree.”

Henry said the vehicle came to rest in a creek bed.

Firefighters from Vanoss and Ada had to pry the driver’s-side door open to remove Neel from the wreckage.

Emergency officials on scene said Neel suffered a broken femur and had internal injuries as well as lacerations.

He was treated in a Valley View EMS ambulance before being taken by MediFlight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
