Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man Tuesday suspected of killing another man at a local bar in June.
Sheriff John Christian said Jeremiah Ray Pool, 31, Fittstown, turned himself in to authorities at Pontotoc County Courthouse and was placed into custody. He was later charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of Gary Anderson Fox, 38, Ada, June 19.
Christian said deputies were called to Outlaws Bar just east of Ada at 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, they discovered Fox lying unconscious at the bar.
Christian said Fox had been punched after an argument with Pool and when he fell, his head hit hard on the floor. He died while en route to a local hospital.
Christian said Pool was charged based on statements given by witnesses. Bail for Pool was set at $150,000, Christian said.
