A man was arrested Friday after crashing his truck into a motorcyclist on Main Street.
The wreck occurred at the intersection of Main and Hope at 9:18 p.m. Ada Police Officer Brad Rhoads said a man driving a pickup, Shawn Lee Moore, 32, Ada, allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign and hit a motorcycle driven by Brion Lee Smith, 30, Ada.
Smith was taken by Valley View EMS to Valley View Regional Hospital with multiple injuries. Rhoads said Moore “appeared to be exhibiting cyclic behavior” and had an odor of alcohol on his breath. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
“I transported Moore to Valley View for a blood draw due to great bodily injury to Brion Smith,” Rhoads said. “Smith had a fractured leg and a spinal fracture. Moore failed to yield right of way from a stop sign.”
Rhoads said Moore was uncooperative, fought with police and issued several threats. He was also arrested on suspicion of resisting police officers and assault on a police officer.
Moore remains in the Pontotoc County Justice Center on a $75,000 bond.
