ADA – Thanks to Proposition 1, major renovation work is set to begin on yet another busy Ada intersection.

Fourth and Broadway will be the latest high-traffic intersection to be made safer and easier to navigate, thanks to revenue generated by Prop 1 – a three-quarter cent sales tax dedicated to infrastructure improvements throughout the city.

The Fourth and Broadway project is scheduled to start Tuesday, December 4. It will take approximately two months to complete, weather permitting.

The project involves widening the eastbound leg of the intersection and adding a left-turn lane there. A left-turn lane will also be added on the northbound leg. New signal lights will be installed and the entire intersection will be restriped. Total estimated cost of the project is $200,000.

The current signal lights do not operate properly due to collapsed conduit. Four-way stop signs have been in use at the intersection for several months.

Due to the size of the project, motorists should be aware that traffic lane closings will be unavoidable. At times, entire legs of the intersection will be closed. Public updates on the project’s progress will be made at every available opportunity.
