ADA – “The situation is under control,” said Robyn Elliott, director of media relations for the Chickasaw Nation, shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday. Responding to a call from Carl Albert Indian  Health Facility (CAIHF), Lighthorse police began looking for an armed individual who reportedly made threats against a person who may have been at the facility.

CAIHF was locked down as a precautionary measure for the safety of the patients and staff as the officers investigated the scene.  According to one source, an altercation occurred in the parking lot and the armed suspect left the area.  Multiple county and Lighthorse investigators searched the premises and secured another Chickasaw Nation facility at the corner of Broadway and 10th where maintenance crews were located.

At approximately 5 p.m. law enforcement declared CAIHF safe and the lock down was lifted.  During a lock down no one is allowed to enter or leave the buildings.  Names of the suspects have not been released by officials pending further investigation.
