ADA — Happy Elders of Asbury United Methodist Chruch met June 12 in the Family Life Center of the church for a covered dish luncheon. Joe Jared said prayer.

VANOSS – Vanoss Home and Community Education group met June 13 in the clubhouse at Vanoss. Mary Hightower called the meeting to order and Jean Beth Martin led the gorup in repeating the Pledge of Allegience to the Flag.
Patsy Coffey read inspirational thoughts from Proverbs in the Bible. Roll call was answered by 10 members describing their favorite vegetable cooked on the grill.
Martha Miller read the minutes of the May 9 meeting. A financial report was given by Estaline Waters. The group paid expenses for two Vanoss girls who attended Girls State this year. Members also discussed the Stratford Alumni Banquet they had catered June 2.
Several members of the Vanoss HCE plan to attend Oklahoma Home and Community Education meeting in Oklahoma City in July.
Martha Miller demonstrated a tote bag she made from a kit that can be purchased locally. Tentative plans were made to make stuffed bunnies at the informal meeting June 20. Members were instructed to take pieces of small print or striped fabric for each bunny.
Hightower gave out literature about Grilling Fresh Vegetables.
Carolynn Pittman and Zamora Stringer celebrated birthdays and Jessie and George Welch celebrated their wedding anniversary.
