ADA — Friday, June 30, is the last day to apply for voter registration to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election July 25.

Election Board personnel said that those who are United States citizens, residents of Oklahoma and at least 18 years old may apply to become registered voters.

Those who have never been registered to vote before or who are not currently registered in the county of their residence and those who are registered but need to change their registration information may apply to register or to change name or address by filling out and mailing an Oklahoma Voter Registration Application form in time for it to be postmarked no later than June 30.

Applications postmarked after that time will be accepted and processed, but the applications will not be approved until after July 25.

The County Election Board will respond to each person. The response will be either a voter identification card listing the new voter’s precinct number and polling place location or a letter which explains the reason or reasons the application for voter registration was not approved. Anyone who has submitted a voter registration application and has not received a response within 30 days should phone the County Election Board office at (580) 332-4534.

Oklahoma Voter Registration Application forms are available at the Election Board Office, located in Room 202, second floor of the Pontotoc County Courthouse and at all post offices and public libraries. Applications are also available at the following locations in Pontotoc County:

Ada Tag Agency, Allen Tag Agency, Roff Tag Agency, Stonewall Tag Agency, Department of Human Services, Department of Rehabilitation Services, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Department of Health and the Chickasaw Nutrition Center.
