ADA — Carl Albert outshot Ada, 19-4, and blanked the homestanding Lady Cougars, 5-0, in a District 5A-1 match-up Tuesday night.

The loss dropped Ada to 1-3 in district play and 4-5 overall.

“They were probably the best girls’ team we’ve played so far,” Ada coach Donna Cox said of Carl Albert. You can tell they’ve played a lot of soccer.

“Even though the score was 5-0, that didn’t show how well we played,” Cox added. “It was a physical game, and we played with a lot of intensity and played over our heads, but we just played a better team.”

Carl Albert led 3-0 at halftime, scoring one goal on a corner kick, and added two more after intermission.

Ada freshman Kelsey Dowd made 14 saves in goal in the loss.

“Kelsey made some great saves,” Cox said.

Ada returns to action Tuesday, hosting Durant for Senior Night. The girls contest begins at 5 p.m., and the boys will play at 7 p.m.
