Konawa City Council approved a request from Rita LoPresto, city manager, to build a security fence around the city’s new splash park. This move came during Thursday night’s regular city council meeting. Council stipulated the bid to build the fence must go to the lowest estimate of three job bids.
Among other items discussed were $35,000 in FEMA funds Konawa has received as reimbursement for emergency expenses during the past year; water wells that were recently drilled to provide the city with water; and new regulations DEQ has imposed across the nation.
A special city council meeting will be June 23 at 11 a.m. in the Konawa Council Room of City Hall.
