EL PASO, Texas (AP) — The first of about 2,600 Oklahoma National Guard troops who’ve been in Iraq since January are back in the U.S.

Officials at Fort Bliss, Texas, say about 200 soldiers with the 45th Infantry Brigade arrived Sunday afternoon at the fort near El Paso.

Public affairs officer Jean Offutt says the rest of the brigade will arrive on flights during the next several days.

The soldiers will spend about six days at Fort Bliss before returning to Oklahoma.
