One month after an open house to celebrate their grand opening, the folks at Gray Real Estate and Gray Real Estate Elite are living their dream.

“Opening a real estate business has been a lifelong dream for me,” Broker Amber Gray said. “I developed a passion for real estate through the experiences I had with my grandparents. I tagged along with them throughout my childhood as they bought and sold real estate.”

More than 150 people celebrated with Gray and her realtors at a ribbon cutting and “business after hours” event June 7. The come-and-go reception was held in concert with the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce at Gray’s Main Street office.

“The place where Gray Real Estate is now located was once The Front Porch, a children’s clothing store where my grandmother would take me for many years to buy my back to school clothes,” Gray said. “Later in life, that building became Papa Gjorgjos, where my husband and I went on our first date. One of the things I love most about downtown and Main Street are the memories, it’s the heart of our community.”

Gray said being able to renovate the space and operate her business in a place filled with so many wonderful memories was the “icing on the cake” for her.

“The exterior of our building looks like a little house with a front porch, and we designed the inside to reflect the feeling of home and to be very welcoming,” Gray said. “We are blessed with an amazing and diverse group of realtors, who offer a tremendous amount of experience in real estate sales.”

The event was held on Gray’s birthday, imparting a greater significance upon the occasion.

“I told everyone my wish had already come true, and instead of blowing out candles on a cake this year, I wanted to cut a red ribbon and celebrate with everyone who has helped build and grow this business,” she said. “We are tremendously thankful to all who came out to support us.”

In keeping with the theme of “home,” Gray said the realtors prepared all of the food served at the event themselves.

“I am very, very proud, very honored and very blessed to have the team I have working with me,” she said.
