ADA — Residents of Pontotoc County are invited to attend the come-and-go grand re-opening of the Family Education Center at the Ada Public Library from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006. Free refreshments will be served and information on family services will be provided.

The Family Education Center, formerly housed at Glenwood Elementary School, offers books, videos, DVD’s, audiocassettes and CD’s to families regarding such topics as potty training, positive discipline, learning disabilities, eating disorders, drug prevention, and communicating with teenagers. The extensive collection of materials was assimilated by the Ada Area Success By 6 and is on loan indefinitely to the library as part of an agreement among the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness, the Ada Regional United Way, and the Ada Public Library.

Persons using the Family Education Center may check out the materials like any other library materials during regular library hours. A periodic review of materials being checked out will help the Ada Area Success By 6 to determine which topics circulate the most. Guest speakers and workshops will be offered to provide additional information on issues of greatest interests.

For more information, contact the Ada Area Success By 6 coordinator, Laurie Speed, at (580) 332-3323.
