Stonewall School will once again distribute trees to anyone in the area on Tuesday, April 12, noon to 5 p.m. and Wednesday, April 13, 8 a.m. to 5 p. m., or until the trees are gone.
The event will be held at the Multipurpose Building next to the baseball field in Stonewall.
The trees may be purchased for a minimum $5 donation per tree.
Funds raised from donations for the trees will be used to purchase materials and equipment for the enhancement of education to our students.
There will only be 1000 trees for dispersal. We expect lots of Maples and Oaks with smaller numbers of River Birch and Elm and possible other types of trees.
The trees have been made available through grants from The Tree Bank Foundation out of Edmond, Okla., and the Apache Corporation out of Houston, Texas.
Both foundations are working to make the Oklahoma landscape more beautiful and the air healthier.
“We are very fortunate that we can make these trees available to area communities at such a low cost.
“Our students will ultimately benefit the most, but also our communities will be greener and healthier. We invite everyone to join us and plant a tree,” said Kevin Flowers, Stonewall superintendent.
