The Chickasaw Nation and Pontotoc County Health Department are offering flu vaccinations to the public at no cost 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center, 700 N. Mississippi.

Yearly flu vaccinations help protect individuals from influenza. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a yearly flu vaccination as the first and most important step in protecting against the flu.

Some people are more vulnerable to serious flu illness, including infants, children, elders and people with certain chronic health issues. Being vaccinated better protects not only the individual, but also everyone around them.
