ADA — Farm Bureau Women’s Committee met at 7 p.m. on June 12 at the Farm Bureau Office. Mildred West, chairman, presided.

The flag salute was led by Christy Smith. Kathryn Floyd gave the devotional on “You Can Always Get a Fresh Start” and then led in prayer. Janet Gibson read the minutes and gave the treasurer’s report. Both were approved as read.

Mickala Scroggins, Ada, and Jon Cross, Byng, attended the Farm Bureau Safety Seminar in Edmond June 5-7.

Final plans were made for the Meet the Candidates Forum to be held at the Pontotoc County Agri-plex June 15. Candidates for public office were invited to speak and share what they would like to do if elected to the position.

A discussion was held on the Women’s Rally to be held in Claremore July 10-11. Four women plan to attend. Each county attending is asked to take a basket of items to be auctioned to raise money for the Nurse’s Loan Fund. Pontotoc County decided to do a basket of Southwest items and food.

Chrishan Cooley, Family Crisis Center, was introduced as the speaker. She spoke about their program and ways Farm Bureau Women could help with it.
