ADA — Valley View Dialysis Clinic, owned and operated by Valley View Regional Hospital, announced today that Abdul Khan, M.D., the current attending nephrologist for the dialysis clinic, has been appointed as medical director. In addition, construction will soon begin on a state-of-the-art dialysis facility, which the dialysis unit will relocate to upon completion from the hospital campus .

“Our goal for renal care management has always been to ensure that dialysis patients receive the highest quality of medical care in this community, close to their homes and families,” says Ron Webb, CEO of Valley View Regional Hospital. “Dr. Khan is a highly accomplished nephrologist and we are thrilled that he is now overseeing the operations of the dialysis clinic.”

The new dialysis facility will be approximately 6,000 square feet and will have 22 patient chairs. Each patient chair will have its own flat panel television with personal headphones and remote control. Because dialysis patients are typically cold during their treatments, a special heating and cooling system has been designed to help them regulate body temperature. Large picture windows to allow in natural light, telephone and internet access, oversized fully reclining chairs and patient lockers are some additional features that the facility will feature. The clinic will be outfitted with the most state-of-the-art medical technology available, including a wireless and paperless charting system. In addition, the nursing team from the current facility will all move to the new facility with the patients. The clinic manager for the dialysis unit is Charles Ingram.

“We are extremely lucky to have such a highly skilled and experienced nursing team at our dialysis unit,” said Dr. Khan. “Our entire nursing team will move to the new facility with the patients upon completion of construction. Our top priority is to offer dialysis patients in Ada the highest quality of renal care available, in most comfortable and convenient environment possible.”

Once the new dialysis unit is completed, Khan said he will host an open house celebration open to the public. Refreshments will be served and prizes, including a DVD television, will be given away in a drawing to celebrate the opening of the clinic. According to Khan, an invitation will be published in the local media prior to the clinic’s opening.
