Chimney Hill chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution recently extended an invitation to area high schools to participate in DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest. Six of seven Pontotoc County schools accepted the invitation.

One high school senior was selected as that school's DAR Good Citizen, exhibiting the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

The contest consisted of two parts: Personal,70 percent; and Essay, 30 percent.

At the DAR December luncheon meeting all six sutdents received a DAR Good Citizens pin, certificate and wallet recognition card. The winner won a $50 bond and the opportunity to enter the district contest.

Students receiving the DAR Good Citizens recognition were Allie Barton, Ada High School, Sara Burrows, Roff High School, Brandi Horton, Allen High School, Colton Lott, Ada High School, Clint Nickell, Vanoss High School, and Jennifer O'Grady, Byng High School. The winner named was Colton Lott.
