KIOWA — A Coalgate man suffered head injuries Wednesday evening when his Corvette rolled-over twice.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Dennis Splawn, Ricky Robson, 49, Coalgate, was driving a 1984 Corvette south on U.S. Highway 69 north of Kiowa when his car rear-ended a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Mary Mahaffey, 59, Coalgate. Robson’s vehicle rolled two complete times upon impact.

Betty Williams, 65, Pittsburg, Okla., Emily Greene, 11, Julia Greene, 7, and Madeline Greene, 13, all of Coalgate, were taken to McAlester Regional Hospital where they and Mahaffey were treated and released.

Robson, however, was taken to St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa by Air E-vac where he is listed in stable condition with head injuries.

Splawn said seat belts were in use by everyone in both vehicles.
