ADA—Pontotoc County Commissioners voted at a Monday morning meeting to hold a fair board election.
Danny Davis, district two commissioner, said slots in all three districts would be up for election and fair board members serve a three-year term.
Davis said filing for the election would be Jan. 24 to Jan. 28 and the election would be Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Brenda Gilstrap, marketing and tourism director, said the Giddy-Up Riding Club is looking for members who want to work their horses at the Pontotoc County Agri-plex’s indoor arena during the winter.
Gilstrap said the club would have access to the arena on Monday nights from 4-9 p.m. unless other agri-plex events prevented them from riding.
She said membership to the club is $35 per member and current dates for the club’s rides are Jan. 10, 17, 24, 31; Feb. 7, 14, 28; March 14, 21, and 28.
Commissioners also voted to let a bid for rock limestone and a Bo-Mag machine rental and to dispose of equipment for district three.
