BYNG — Upcoming senior at Byng High School, Clay Thompson, Ada, graduated from Youth Leadership Oklahoma’s Class VI June 9, in Oklahoma City.

Thompson was selected to be in the group of 53 youths based on demonstrated leadership in his school and community. Leadership Oklahoma created YLOK with a mission to develop young leaders who feel hope, pride and responsibility for Oklahoma’s future.

The week-long program began in Enid at the Enid Symphony Center and concluded at the Phillips Pavilion on the grounds of the governor’s mansion. Other locations visited throughout the week included Weatherford, Elk City, Sayre, Woodward, Mooreland, Calumet, Chickasha, Lawton-Fort Sill, Burns Flat and Norman. At each location YLOK Class VI learned about Oklahoma’s resources, issues and treasures, met with state leaders and further developed their own leadership skills.
