ADA — Ada Area Success By 6 announce the presentation of child care grants to eleven early childhood programs in the Ada area. The grants are funded through Ada Area Success By 6 in partnership with Ada Regional United Way and Smart Start Oklahoma. The funds will be used to purchase childcare equipment, increase professional development opportunities, augment evening and/or weekend care and assist in meeting quality criteria for the OKDHS Reaching for the Stars program.

The following child care centers, family child care homes and pre-kindergarten programs have been awarded grants: Becky’s Family Childcare Center (if this is a home, it needs to be listed with the other homes below), Juanita’s Daycare, ECU Child Development Center, Stepping Stones of Ada, Monnie’s Day Care, Stacy’s Daycare, Latta Kidzone, and Luanne’s Early Learning Daycare. Family child care homes owned and operated by Brandy Fortner, Robyn Simpson, and Nancy Bowers were also selected.

“Quality early learning environments are critical to the growth and development of young children. We are very excited about the opportunity to work with caregivers in the Ada community as we seek ways to support families and enhance services for young children,” said Latricia Bryant, Executive Director for Ada Regional United Way.

Smart Start Oklahoma is a grassroots initiative that supports families as they raise children who are safe, healthy, and eager to learn and ready to succeed in school. By making local civic and business leaders, educators and volunteers aware of children’s needs, and by collaborating with local service providers, Smart Start makes better use of programs or resources that already exist. There are currently 16 Smart Start Oklahoma communities, including Ada Area Success By 6.
