The Chickasaw Nation opened its new pharmacy and clinic to the general public this week in Ada.

Sovereign Pharmacy and Fine Gifts is located inside the Sovereign Family Practice Clinic, 1007 N. Country Club Road. The clinic opened in July 2011 and originally provided medical care to Chickasaw Nation employees.

The pharmacy and gift store is a business entity of Sovereign Pharmacy Solutions, a subsidiary of Sovereign Medical Solutions — the owner and operator of the Family Practice Clinic. The decision to open services to the general public stemmed from a request from Chickasaw tribal citizens, who were seeking a pharmacy program for their non-native spouses.
