Repairs being performed on the Chickasaw Turnpike will keep area residents off of the two lane connection to the Sulphur area until late September.

According to Brigette Berglan, spokesperson for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, traffic cannot continue while the stretch of pavement is being serviced due to the turnpike only containing two roads.

Approximately 470,000 vehicles traveled along the 17.3 mile road in 2005, accumulating $472,370. A total of $191.2 million was attained last year by the state's 10 turnpikes.

Toll revenues remain on the increase this year, as it is currently 4.3 percent higher when compared to last year's time frame.
