The Chickasaw Nation will be giving flu vaccinations free of charge in various locations across central and southern Oklahoma.

Participants must be Native American and provide a CDIB Card, Tribal Membership Card, or be a Chickasaw Nation Employee to receive the vaccine.

The flu shot is recommended annually for anyone who wants to reduce their chances of getting the flu.

People who should get vaccinated each year are: children ages 6 months to 19 years old, pregnant women, people 50 years and older, people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, people who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities, and people who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu. Pneumonia vaccines will also be available for those people needing one.

For all vaccines people should consult with a physician to see if the vaccine is right and if there are any questions due to health complications.
