ADA — The Chickasaw Nation will host a Red Ribbon Fun Walk and Red Ribbon Family Fun Day Saturday, Oct. 28, at Ada.

Both events are being held in conjunction with National Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 23 - 31, which is a way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a drug-free America.

The Red Ribbon Fun Walk will begin at 8 a.m. on Main Street at the Ada Walk Path. Community members of all ages are encouraged to take part in the three-mile walk to support the Red Ribbon Campaign.

The Red Ribbon Family Run Day will take place from 1-3 p.m. behind the Ada Wellness Center, 231 W. Seabrook Road.

The event will include hayrides, moon bounce, face and hair painting, game booths, obstacle course, balloons, drinks, cooking demonstrations, K-9 Police Unit demonstrations, drug awareness information and more.

Also, the Oklahoma Blood Institute will be on hand from noon to 3 p.m. with free t-shirts to all donors.
