ADA — Camp Fire USA’s 96th year of providing America’s youth with fun, exciting and asset-building programs is March 17.

In central Oklahoma, youth of all ages participate in small group-mentoring programs, self-reliance courses and camping and environmental education programs. Ada Area Camp Fire is host to many youth clubs and organizations, including a local Teens in Action group, a group whose main focus is giving service to their communities, and the annual summer day camp, Camp Da Wa Si, which is open to all area youth pre-k to grade 12. All of Camp Fire USA’s programs and activities are built upon the national organization’s foundation of seeking to improve those conditions in society that affect youth.

“This month, Camp Fire USA councils, members and supporters across the country will reflect on the past 96 successful years of service and embrace a bright future which includes reaching out to even more young people and their families,” said Lori Roberts, region manager for Ada Area Camp Fire USA.

Camp Fire USA’s birthday will be celebrated in the area with weeklong festivities taking place March 12-18. The public is invited to attend the Ada Area Camp Fire birthday party March 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Victory Life Fellowship U-Turn Room.
