BYNG — Trisha Herrin, Byng, was among 13 Northern Oklahoma College athletes to be recognized during the NOC-Seminole State College basketball games Feb. 27 at Tonkawa.

Sophomore members of the women’s and men’s basketball teams and the cheerleading team were introduced with their parents before the games. Following the men’s game, the athletes autographed their individual posters at a reception in the East Gym.

Herrin, a graduate of Byng High School, is a manager for the NOC Lady Mavericks basketball team. The daughter of Fred and Karen Herrin, she played for the Lady Mavericks her freshman year.

In high school she was selected to the Ada Evening News All-Area Second Team, All-Star First Team, Regional Player of the Week two weeks, Indian All-State, Oklahoma Indian Academic All-State and OGBA Academic All-State. Her senior year she averaged 11 points and four rebounds per game and shot 50 percent from the field.
