Thieves burglarized a local grocery store and took an undisclosed amount of money Friday.

Ada Police Detective Tracy Jackson said the burglars struck while the store — Nichols Dollar Saver located on N. Broadway — was closed and used tools to cut holes in the roof. Once inside, they broke in to the store’s office.

“There was some money taken from the safe,” he said.

Jackson was on the scene Friday morning collecting evidence. He said he was waiting for store officials to provide him with an exact dollar amount before releasing the total amount stolen.

He said anyone with information can phone CrimeStoppers at 33CATCH or 332-2824 and remain anonymous.
