Woodmen of the World Chapter 1228 in Ada presented 180 copies of "The American Patriots Handbook"  to Latta High School this past week.  "The American Patriots Handbook" contains information on the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the history of the American flag, as well as a biography of each U.S. president.

In addition to being one of the nation’s leading fraternal benefit societies and providing financial security to members through insurance and investment products, Woodmen of the World is also a patriotic organization whose members conduct community service projects.

Through a network of 2,000 community-based chapters, members present flags and flagpoles to non-profit entities.

In the past 60 years, Woodmen of the World members have presented more than 2 million U.S. flags to schools, churches, parks and other non-profit organizations. Woodmen of the World chapters also sponsor American history awards for students in upper grades and welcome new citizens at naturalization ceremonies.

For more information about Woodmen of the World, and its patriotic program, contact Loretta Abney at 320-9248.

Woodmen of the World was founded in 1890 as a fraternal benefit organization.

Today, Woodmen of the World offers insurance, annuities and financial security.
