ARDMORE — In an effort to help women succeed in business, another in a series of free Women’s Biz Connection workshops is scheduled to be held in Ardmore this month, according to Dr. Barbara Rackley, coordinator of the Rural Women’s Business Center of Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma

“Tax Tips for Your Small Business” will be the topic presented by Bill Rahhal, CPA, of Hulme, Rahhal, Henderson, Inc., from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, in Seminar Room B-2, Southern Oklahoma Technology Center, 2610 Sam Noble Parkway, Ardmore.

“You are invited to hear Bill explain tax strategies designed to provide the entrepreneur and small business owner with a head start on their 2006 income tax program.   Topics to be covered include accounting methods, business expenses and deductions, retirement plans, income deferral, and more,” said Rackley. "Although this is an informative meeting specifically planned for women entrepreneurs, all business owners are invited and welcome to attend.”  The workshop agenda provides adequate time for networking with other business owners.

“The meeting is one of several being held throughout southeastern Oklahoma in an effort to encourage and assist women entrepreneurs in their efforts to successfully start and operate a business," said Dr. Rackley.   “We recognize the potential of job creation that can be developed with the successes of the growing number of home-based women entrepreneurs and plan these meetings to encourage their business expansions.”

The event is co-sponsored by the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center, the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce, OSU Extension, and the Rural Women’s Business Center of REI.  The Rural Women’s Business Center is funded in part by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
