Americana Unplugged’s last Davis, OK concert will be a free Christmas concert Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Davis High School Auditorium, 400 E. Atlanta.
Big Wide Grin, the bi-coastal trio of Elaine Dempsey, Lawrence Lambert and Karl Werne, from California and Virginia, bring diverse backgrounds of experience, music and theater together to form a rich, soulful blend of character and deep harmony.
Their recent Christmas CD, “Holiday” features a wide variety of world class arrangers and studio musicians from both coasts, proving to be the most diverse self-produced musical endeavor from this group so far and features a mix of seasonal faith-based and holiday favorites. Big Wide Grin will also perform songs from their other hit CDs.
This will be the last Americana Unplugged concert in Davis as the series organizer, Larry Lyon, is moving to New Mexico. Several of Americana Unplugged’s sponsors have agreed to absorb the cost of the band and Davis High School is allowing the use of the auditorium so the community may enjoy this free Christmas concert.
“As the support of the local community members and businesses for our benefit concerts has been so outstanding during the four-plus years I have been hosting the Americana Unplugged series, I wanted our last concert in Davis to feature one of the finest musical acts in America for the entire community to enjoy absolutely free of charge,” said Americana Unplugged presenter Larry Lyon.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., performance at 7 p.m.
