Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5 for Allen and Roff municipal elections.

Precinct 51, Allen First Baptist Church, will be open in Allen and precinct 63, Roff City Hall, will be open in Roff.

Allen voters will be electing the candidate to represent ward five of Allen City Council.  James Michael is challenging Incumbent Dianna Brannan for the seat.

Roff voters will elect candidates for wards three and five of Roff City Council.  Incumbent Angie Hyatt will face Zack Braun in ward three while Alfred Atchison, Jeremy Grissom and Brent Crawford vie for ward five’s seat.  Ward five’s previous representative, Mayor Bob Penrod, is not running for re-election.

Pontotoc County Election Board officials said voters should fill in the arrow as shown on posters at the polling place and in voting booths to indicate their candidate of choice.

“If voters make mistakes marking their ballots, they should not try to correct those errors,” a release from the election board said.  “Instead, voters should return the spoiled ballot to the precinct officials, who will destroy it and issue a new ballot to the voter.”
