A man who wrecked a vehicle was reportedly found in possession of stolen items Wednesday.
Sheriff Jon Christian said the suspect, 29-year-old Jeffery Don Walls of Roff, was “out pilfering the neighborhood” while intoxicated and crashed into a woman’s yard on County Road 3590 around 6:30 a.m.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Justin Pope responded to the crash and called for deputies after he saw items believed to be stolen in the vehicle.
“I arrived on scene and noticed a blue Buick which had numerous items inside the vehicle and an outdoor gas grill hanging out of the trunk,” said Deputy Travis Wilson in a report. “I then spoke with the owner of the residence, Mary Teel, and she stated some of the items in Walls’ vehicle, which were a ceramic bird bath with stand and a wooden cowboy lawn ornament, were hers. Doil Turner who walked over from his residence next door stated a pair of aluminum loading ramps came from his yard.”
Walls was arrested on suspicion of knowingly concealing stolen property and theft of $200 and up. Christian said other property was found and asked anyone missing any items to phone the sheriff’s department at 332-4149.
